All Catholic couples celebrating 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 or more years of marriage are invited by Bishop Frank J. Dewane to a Mass in honor of significant milestone anniversaries.
The Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 11, at St. Leo the Great Parish in Bonita Springs.
Bishop Frank J.?Dewane of the Diocese of Venice.
Hundreds of married Catholic couples will be celebrating their anniversaries this weekend, with Dewane, who will celebrate those married 25 years or more, along with one couple who have been united for 74 years of holy matrimony.
"The Mass honoring wedding anniversaries is one of the most personally uplifting experiences throughout the year," said Dewane. "We celebrate the sacred bond of marriage, but we also rejoice in the beauty of the family. Pope Francis reminds us the family is our 'initiation into the alliance of man and woman' and it all begins with marriage."
There are a total of five couples married 70 or more years from parishes across the Diocese of Venice this year. A reception at St. Leo Parish Hall will follow the Mass.
All are invited to attend.
St. Leo the Great Parish is at 28290 Beaumont Road in Bonita Springs.
