Lee County Community Development issued 3,738 permits in February

During February, contractors pulled 118 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at about $33.2 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 134 permits issued in January 2017 and 84 issued in February 2016, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

Also during February, 18 multi-family units valued at about $2.2 million were permitted, compared to six units in January 2017 and 27 units in February 2016.

General commercial activity was valued at about $5.2 million for 21 permits, compared to about $9.6 million in January 2017 and about $6.2 million in February 2016.

Lee County Community Development issued 3,738 permits of all kinds in February.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

Free condo and HOA Board Certification Course Wednesday

Condominium and homeowner association board members, as well as property managers, are invited to attend a free Board Certification Course. The educational program is an introduction for all new board members and a review for anyone currently serving on a board.

Hosted by Executive National Bank and Community Cable Consultants, with Juda, Eskew & Associates, P.A., providing a financial update and Eisinger, Brown, Lewis, Frankel & Chaiet, P.A., conducting the DBPR-approved Board Certification Course led by managing partner Dennis J. Eisinger and partner Alessandra Stivelman. The two attorneys will review recent legislative changes affecting condominium and homeowner associations, explain the role of fiduciary duties and guide board members through the applicable statutes governing community associations in Florida.

This course fulfills community association board member State certification requirements (Sections 718.112(2)(d)(4) and 720.3033(1)).

Stevens Construction awarded Marlins Plaza

Stevens Construction has been awarded the construction management services of Marlins Plaza, located at 5631 Six Mile Commercial Court, in Fort Myers, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

The Lee Building Industry Association launched the 31st Annual Lee Parade of Homes Feb. 24.

The Lee Parade of Homes offers residents and visitors the opportunity to view a wide variety of decorated model homes throughout the area - open all at once. The Lee Parade of Homes concludes March 3-5. Models are open Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m.

Leading industry home building and design experts will judge the models and winners will be announced on March 14. Winning models receive the Lee BIA's coveted Superior Home Award.

Homes by Towne ready to open models at Babcock Ranch, hires sales agents

Homes by Towne has announced that Pat Eickholt and Debi Williams-Reigler have joined the team as sales agents at Babcock Ranch in Charlotte County.
