The Lee County Community Band will present Irish Blessings on March 5, entertaining the audience with the whimsical Instant Concert and Tailgate Concerto, and celebrating the fun of being Irish for the day with "Londonderry Air" and "My Wild Irish Rose." The concert will take place at 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School.
Director Richard Bradstreet has rounded out the program with a selection of seasonal medleys, including A Celtic Festival and Best Loved Irish Melodies, and old favorites, including Sousa's "Black Horse Troop," "A Trumpeter's Lullaby" and highlights from "Fiddler on the Roof."
The remaining concert of the season is set for April 2 at 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd., one block north of Veterans Parkway. All of the band's concerts are free (donations accepted) and open to the public.
The 65member band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life who reside in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.
