Join the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Southwest Florida Office for the inaugural Estero Heart Walk & Wellness Festival, 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Estero Park & Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd., Estero, to raise awareness and funds to fight cardiovascular diseases!
Hosted by The Village of Estero, the non-competitive walk and wellness festival is open to all age groups and pet-friendly. Registration is $35/adult; children 18 and under are free. Participants receive a complimentary T-shirt and enjoy the following activities starting at 8:30 a.m.:
* A "Kids Zone" area
* Golf chipping and putting, bocce, horseshoes and more
* Sponsor booths
* Heart-health information
* Support Network information
The co-chairs for the inaugural event, which evolved from The Brooks Heart Walk's three years of success, are Barbara and Doug Saxton. Platform Sponsor is Lee Health.
Funds raised allow the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to provide professional and community education, as well as critical research yielding medical advances such as cardiac catheterization, open-heart surgery, angioplasty, pacemakers and CPR.
