Snow Day in Fort Myers Saturday

September 27, 2016
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Apothicare 360 will present the second annual Snow Day event at the Pediatric Dentistry of Fort Myers on Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Welcoming sun and snow in one special day, everyone is invited to enjoy the festivities in observance of supporting healthy family bonds during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The event will be held at 8016 Summerlin Lakes Drive, Fort Myers. There will be snowfall special effects, a blizzard tent with magic snow and snowball fun, as well as a live broadcast from 96.9 WINK FM. Additionally, this year's event features musical performances by Family Music Time, author Robin E. Mizwa with the Story of the Sugar Fairies Book, and a headlining performance by Glen Beitman with Super Science and Amazing Art, the BIG Show. Snow Day 2016 will also feature snow themed face painting, bounce houses, an obstacle course, and a giant human foosball arena, thanks to SWFL Bubble Soccer, for parents and their children to enjoy. Families can meet various mascots including Swampee from the Florida Everblades, Sway from the Fort Myers Miracle, the Chick-Fil-A cow, a Lego Star Wars Storm Trooper, and a Minion, courtesy of Jumping Jacks Fun Zone. Giveaways during the event include free children's vitamins thanks to Apothicare 360's Kids 360 program, sunglasses and koozie cup holders donated by Miromar Outlets, and lots of other fun prizes given by sponsors, like Erickson's Drying Systems.

Prices are $5 for adult entry and $10 for all-day wristband for children (unlimited access to bounce house play, human foosball arena, face painting, and pictures with Anna, Elsa and Olaf). Each adult ticket will also entitle the recipient an opportunity to win a four pack of Disney World park hopper passes, valued at $620. Tickets for Snow Day 2016 may be purchased in advance by visiting drverwest.com/snowday/. Food will also be available and provided by Red Roc Cravings, Bullseye Eats Hot Dogs and More, Camy's Kettle Corn, Kona Ice, and Jonesez Barbeque, at an additional charge.

All proceeds from the Pediatric Dentistry of Ft. Myers Snow Day event will benefit Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., the only local licensed and certified nonprofit providing safe, free, and confidential services for victims of domestic violence and their children, survivors of rape/sexual assault, and human trafficking. ACT's three safe shelters are currently serving over 50 children, and more than 40 adults seeking refuge from domestic violence in our area.
