GOVERNOR'S RACE WILL SHAPE STATE SUPREME COURT

If former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist is elected governor as a Democrat in November, all seven state Supreme Court justices might be his appointments. If Republican Gov. Rick Scott is re-elected, he could completely reshape the court that has frustrated him and other GOP leaders on issues ranging from medical marijuana to efforts to protect doctors and businesses from lawsuits.

IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTS TO VERIFY HEALTH COVERAGE

Nearly 100,000 Floridians who bought health insurance through the Affordable Care Act could have their coverage cancelled by the end of September if they don't send in documents confirming their citizenship and immigration status. Consumers can expect emails, phone calls and letters this week from federal health officials urging them to clear up the inconsistencies with their healthcare.gov applications.

2 SOUTH FLORIDA BUTTERFLIES LISTED AS ENDANGERED

Two butterflies found only in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties have been added to the endangered species list. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Monday that it was listing the Florida leafwing and Bartram's scrub-hairstreak as endangered and designating thousands of acres of critical habitat for both butterflies.

POLICE SEEK SUSPECT WHO KIDNAPPED, BEAT WOMAN

Police are looking for a man who kidnapped and beat a church volunteer who was providing meals to the needy. Ocala police say the 69-year-old woman got into her car Monday night after serving meals when a man hiding inside put a knife to her neck and told her to drive.

DOLPHINS SIGN QB BRADY QUINN

Brady Quinn has signed with the Miami Dolphins. The deal was agreed to Monday and announced Tuesday by the team. Quinn, who joins his seventh NFL club, is expected to compete with Matt Moore for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill. Also Tuesday, the Dolphins placed quarterback Pat Devlin on the waived/injured list.
