Elks Club news, Week of Dec. 9

December 9, 2015
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Did you know...

The Elks are working with the Cape Coral Caring Center to provide gifts for needy children in our community. There is a Christmas tree in the Lodge with small tags denoting age and gender of a child in need. Won't you help by taking a tag and donating a gift to make a child's Christmas dream come true. A monetary donation is also accepted to purchase a gift on your behalf. Donations are needed by December 18th. Don't forget, if wrapped, place a tag on the bottom with a child's age and gender. Come be an Elk angel this Christmas.

Woo hoo, it's Jerry Dycke for your listening and dancing pleasure at the Elks Friday Dinner Dance on December 11th. Dance the night away after a great dinner from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tickets on sale in the HCO. You can be the star at Open Mic night in the Lounge with host Robert Gonnelli. Robert keeps the music flowing from 7 - 10 p.m.

Out in Antlers Grove on Dec. 12 we have Tony Blake to keep your fingers snapping and toes tapping. Have dinner first, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. so your grumbling stomach doesn't keep you from dancing the night away.

It's bingo at the Elks every Sunday from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Gather everyone you know and com play with us, as this fun event is open to the public.

Bean baggers, have you jotted down Dec. 13 and 27 for the tournaments? The fun starts at 1 p.m. out in Antlers Grove. Beginners are welcome.

Now is the time to get your tickets for the New Years Eve Party at the Elks. Dec. 31 is coming faster than we think. "A Moment in Time" with Robert Gonnelli will help your ring in the New Year in style. A champagne toast at midnight and continental breakfast at 1 a.m. are planned. For more details and tickets, call the Lodge at 549-1508.

Don't forget the Lodge meeting on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.

Take a moment to jot down the Ladies of the Elks board meeting on Dec. 16 at 9:30 a.m. We hope to see all board members and chairpersons.

It's the Ladies of the Elks Club 52 on Dec. 14. The cost is $3 at the door, which opens at 11 a.m. Coffee and dessert will be served to keep your mind sharp to play cards and games with us.

Have you seen the beautiful amethyst and diamond pendant the Ladies are raffling off for Valentines Day, 2016? Come take a chance for your sweetheart at the Wacky Wednesday sweet table and Fridays in the hallway from 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. The pendant is the wonderful work of Jon Michael, and valued at $1500. As always, proceeds benefit children's charities.
