William "Bill" Cleon Smith, 83, of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
He was born Jan. 21, 1931, in Atlanta, to Cleon and Evelyn Mitchell Smith. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He moved to the area in 1970 from Atlanta. He is a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, Cape Coral.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Wright Smith; children, Steve (LuJean) Smith of Grand Forks, N.D., Jeffery (Sherri) Smith of Atlanta, Cynthia

(Paul) Fila of North Fort Myers; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Joe) Willingham of Snellville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jerianne Hamilton.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Bill Roan will officiate. Burial will be at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral.
