Clothes for Kids drive under way on Pine Island

July 4, 2014
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The 14th annual Clothes for Kids drive is under way on Pine Island. The goal is to assure that all island youngsters age 12 and below have new clothes for the first two days of school, while students age 13 and above will receive gift cards to purchase their own clothes.

There are two ways in which to make contributions.

One is to "adopt" and purchase the clothing. To do so, call Peg Harmon at 283-3874 or Mary Jo Roane at 283-7862 for the gender, age and size of the "adoptee;" purchase the items; then drop them off at Firehouse No. 1 at Pine Island Center.

The alternative is to make a tax-deductible donation to Pine Island FISH, indicate "clothes for kids" on the memo line and send it to P.O, Box 357, Matlacha, FL 33993. The FISH shopping committee will purchase the new clothes for those who are not adopted.

For further information, call 283-3874.
