Fusion Welding in Fort Myers acquires new metalwork machines
Fusion Welding in Fort Myers has purchased two industrial machines that will enhance the company's metalworking capacity and job turnaround time, announced operations manager Darin Beaner. Earlier this year Fusion acquired another industrial machine, investing upwards of $500,000 collectively.
The first machine is a Baileigh Industrials Hydraulic Press Brake Model PPTK 135/30 capable of bending metals from 3/16-inch to 1-inch up to 10-foot-lengths. Prior to the purchase, Fusion technicians would cut metal and weld the pieces together to create a bend, or ship the piece to the east coast to a shop that had the capability.
The second machine is a Baileigh Industrials Sheet Metal Shear SH-12014 capable of cutting pieces from 20,000th of an inch to 1/8-inch in lengths up to 10 feet. This machine gives the shop the ability to create custom pieces from extremely thin metals, such as copper kitchen range hoods or stainless panels for use in both commercial kitchens and luxury homes.
Fusion Welding recently fabricated and installed 4,000 linear feet of aluminum powder-coated railings in just 75 days as part of the Hammond Stadium renovation project. The shop is now involved in Phase II of the baseball stadium's renovation work, as well as supplying metalwork for Naples Municipal Airport and the Department of Veterans Affairs Lee County Healthcare Center, among other projects.
What started out as a business to help customers with small welding projects has grown into a one-stop shop for any job of any size that requires metalwork. Fusion can take a project from conception to installation, fabricating and welding any commercial, industrial or residential job that involves aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel and exotic metals.
Lisa Beaner, president, and her husband Darin Beaner, operations manager, launched the company at 15865 Brothers Court in Fort Myers in 2010. For more information, call 239-288-6530. or visit www.fusion-metalworks.com.
