William T. Ostdick, 82, a Cape Coral resident since 2001, formerly of Crystal Lake, Ill., passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, in Cape Coral. He was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Elgin, Ill., to William and Agnes Ostdick, now deceased.
He retired from the telephone industry after 36 years. In addition to that, he was electrician and a very "handy" guy who could build anything. He was a long-time member of the American Legion and the Moose. He loved lighthouses, doing crosswords and jig saw puzzles. He was quiet but loved reminiscing with his family and friends about the Coast Guard and life in simpler times.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Susan E. Wills-Ostdick of Cape Coral; his five children, Lisa Michaels (Bill) of Utah, Julie Trembath (Dan) of California, Lorin Skerbitz (Gerry) of Minnesota, Wayne Ostdick of Wisconsin and Corey Ostdick (Eva) of Illinois; as well as seven grandchildren, one great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his five siblings.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N.E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Greg Sund officiating.
