Next month's roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

ADULTS

Chess Anyone?

5:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Rise to the chess challenge and join in the fun. Bring a personal chess set, if preferred. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.

Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

3:30 p.m., Mondays, July 7, 14, 21, 28

Get creative and make a handmade treasure for yourself or for others. Instruction and materials will be provided for newcomers, or you may bring your own project to work on. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.

English Caf

6 p.m., Tuesdays, July 15, 22, 29

10 a.m., Fridays, July 18, 25

Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.

Books & Banter

9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 22

This is an open forum book discussion. Come and share a favorite book or author. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.

FAMILIES

Baby-Parent Rhyme Time

10 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 9, 16, 23

Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.

Family Storytime

10 a.m., Thursdays, July 3, 10, 17, 24

This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.

CHILDREN & TEENS

Kids Read Down Fines

6-7 p.m., Mondays, July 7, 14, 21

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Bring your library card with you. Your library card or library card number is required in order to access your account.
