Morgan W. Downs was born April 27, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y., to his parents, Joseph and Grace (Paul) Downs. He passed away on May 29, 2014, in Cape Coral.

His wife, Doris, died in 2002. He is survived by his children, David Downs, Dennis K. (Mary) Downs, and Jan (Richard) Downs-Barrett; grandchildren, Jessica Downs and Grant Barrett; nieces, Audrey Jacobs and Carol (Ken) Warner; and many more nieces and nephews.

He attended and graduated from Bradford High School in Bradford, Pa. He served proudly as a medic in the Army and was a World War II veteran who went on to become an industrial engineer for DuPont. After 31 years, he decided to retire to North Fort Myers in January 1982.

He had a lake house at Lime Lake, N.Y., where he was able to enjoy his lifelong hobby of boating.

A memorial service will take place June 17, at 2:30 p.m., at the Lake Arrowhead Club House, North Fort Myers. A memorial service is scheduled for June 30, at 11:30 a.m., at the Linden Presbyterian Church, Linden, N.J.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fuller Metz Cremation and Funeral Services, Cape Coral, and to Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home, Clark, N.J.
