Lillian Gloria Formosa, a longtime Cape Coral resident and a very special lady, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born in Chicago, April 25, 1928, to James and Mary Nacarato, U.S. immigrants from Consenza, Italy.
James, Mary and Ann Nacarato preceded her in death along with her sisters, Lena Nacarato, Florence Formosa, Elaine Lewin, Shirley Pampinella and Rosemary King; and brothr, "Roosi" Nacarato.
Lillian and her family moved to Cape Coral in 1967. She worked for the original Cape Coral developers, Gulf American Land Corporation. Through her career Lillian was employed with Miranda's Italian Restaurant, Cande's Steakhouse and was proprietor of the Scuttlebutt Snack Bar upon opening of the Landings of Fort Myers golf course. Following her retirement she devoted her time to providing care and guidance to her family, pursuing her love of gardening and cooking Italian cuisine.

She joins her late loving husband, Herbert Formosa, and leaves behind her four cherished children, Vincent, Ronald, Michael (Patricia) and David (Diana); sister, Bette Gasser; brothers, Ralph (Susan), Richard (Karen) Nacarato; and beloved grandchildren, Brooke, Adam, Ronald, Jared, Corey, Vincent and Lisa. Great-grandchildren are Logan, Ivy, Lilly, Ilea, Felix, Christian, Michael, Lydia, Brett and Lacey. Many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews that are simply too numerous to mention also survive.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 23, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
