Ms. Walls was a swimming enthusiast and crossword puzzle extraordinaire. She departed June 4, 2014, at the home of her daughter Susan Hutchison and son-in-aw Robert Hutchison in Tallapoosa County, Ala. She was 88 years old and passed from complications after a fall.
She was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Dalton, Ga. Her parents were Leonard Vince McEntyre and Ethel Rhodes McEntyre. Her two siblings, John L. McEntyre and Dorothy A. Carmichael, both preceded her in their departure. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, James Wallace Walls, and granddaughter, Melanie Faith Black Ostaszewski.
Mr. and Mrs. Walls moved their family from Atlanta to Charleston, W.Va., in 1968. This is where they formed lifelong friends who were cherished and loved. In 1986 they left West Virginia for Cape Coral and several of their friends followed shortly after. She spent her days in Florida entertaining friends, swimming in her pool and working her flower garden. She and her husband were dedicated to the church and also opened their home to foreign missionaries. She gave her time volunteering to the church, hospitals and crisis centers.
She loved her family dearly. She also loved to play card games and dominos, take trips and boating.
She is survived by her children, James and Susan Walls of Hiawassee, Ga., David and Bridgette Walls of North Carolina and Susan and Robert Hutchison of Alexander City, Ala.; grandchildren, Chris and Natalie Walls, Josh, Erin and Douglas Walls and Amanda Ostaszewski; and 6 great-grandchildren.
