Tomislav Vukovic, 67, of Cape Coral, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014. He was born Dec. 8, 1946.

He began his training on scholarship to the National Institute in his native Croatia at age 12. His professional career took him all over the world, performing a variety of major roles as principal dancer for the Hambourg Ballet and as guest artist with many other European ballet companies. He was co-founder of Ballet Regent school in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He came to Southwest Florida and taught for Gulf Shore Ballet and he was a teacher at Principal Dancer Academy in his last years of teaching.

He will be missed by all of the students and all the lives he has touched with his knowledge of dance. He was an incredible teacher and well-loved dear friend.

He leaves behind Kim Huntington. The dance community has lost such a terrific teacher and beautiful person.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, June 6, at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N.E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral.
