88 single-family house permits pulled in May for unincorporated Lee County

During May, contractors pulled 88 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $24.5 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 68 permits issued in April and 80 issued in May 2013, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

Also during May, 173 multi-family units were permitted, compared to 151 in April and 43 in May 2013. These include two $4 million, 65-unit apartment buildings, part of the five-building Palazzo Del Sol development on Pamplona Run, southwest of McGregor Boulevard and Pine Ridge Road.

General commercial activity was valued at more than $14.9 million for 22 permits, compared to more than $22 million in April and $687,525 in May 2013. May's commercial permits included the final phase of renovations to the Minnesota Twins facilities at the Lee County Sports Complex on Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway and a building for Gartner in Gateway.

Lee County Community Development issued 3,800 permits of all kinds during May.
