"We are glad to offer a variety of low carb and gluten free products, and will alter any menu item to meet your dietary needs. We truly care about good health and serve only superb quality, fresh items just like grandma used to make."
In the announcement, Truman explained The Angry Tomato "story."
The Angry Tomato Deli specializes in stuffed tomatoes and homemade salads, dressings and sauces, and uses only the freshest of local ingredients.
"The Angry Tomato story started years ago when watching my grandmother can fresh tomatoes, pickles and peaches," he said. "I was curious why someone would work so hard to preserve fresh fruits and vegetables. As I grew older the answer became increasingly clear. The processed, pre-assembled food I was forced to consume lacked flavor and left me disappointed and guilt ridden. I ate more, seeking fulfillment. Soon I became an angry tomato, mad at myself for missing the lessons grandma tried to teach.
He continued, "Eating fresh, flavorful foods would leave me satisfied, full and content. Now you can taste the freshness of grandma's garden for yourself and avoid becoming an angry tomato!"
The Angry Tomato Deli is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For additional information, call239-205-8094.
