The Cape Coral Kiwanis Club, dedicated to "changing the world, one child and one community at a time," will hold its annual "Easter EGGstravaganza" on Saturday at Kiwanis Hall.
This EGGstravaganza party is but one of the Cape Coral Kiwanis Club activities designed to brighten and enhance the lives of the children in our community.
Since 2010, the Cape Coral Kiwanis Club has put on the "Easter EGGstravaganza" and played the Easter Bunny to children from infant to 9 years of age.
This year, volunteer Kiwanis Club adults, members of the Cape Coral High School Key Club, Providence Christian Middle School Builders Club, and the Kiwanis AKTION Club members will once again entertain and put on a free Easter Egg Hunt for the first 300 children who register at the Kiwanis Hall on Saturday, April 19, Registration will begin at 9 a.m.; the hunt for eggs begins at 10 a.m., and the party continues until noon.
Children MUST be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or other responsible adult.
Five groups of children organized by age infant to 1 year old, 2 to 3 years old, 4 to 5 years old, 6 to 7 years old, and 8 to 9 years old will look for eggs containing candy. One egg in each group will contain the word "PRIZE," and the child who finds that egg will receive a special Easter basket made up for that age group.
While waiting for their turn to look for eggs, children will be entertained with games like musical chairs, face painting, and visits with a K-9 officer and K-9 dog and with a representative from the fire department. Every child attending will receive free stuffed animals and age -appropriate books, so they should bring a basket or bag to hold their prizes and goodies.
The Easter egg hunt will take place on the grounds behind the Kiwanis Hall at 360 Santa Barbara Boulevard. Free parking will be available in the parking lot in front of the Kiwanis Hall.
In case of rain, the Easter egg hunt will be canceled.
