This Sunday, April 6, approximately 200 local hairstylists will unite to cut hair to raise funds and collect non-perishable food items to help cut hunger in the local community.
Proceeds from the "Stylists Unite to Help Cut Hunger" will benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank, which provides direct services to those in need, including church food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, disaster relief agencies and more. Today, the food bank provides food for more than 30,000 individuals each month.
The stylists' goal is to raise a minimum of $45,000 and to collect as much non-perishable food items and local grocer gift cards as possible. The Harry Chapin Food bank can turn $45,000 into $270,000 worth of food which could feed 30,000 people for 9 months
"Stylists Unite to Help Cut Hunger" will be held at The Salon Professional Academy's new location at Royal Palm Square, 1388 Colonial Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local Hairstylists as well as Redken's national and international artists Brayden Pelletier, Ryan Morgan and Leah Hanson, and Matrix's artist Tara Koenig will be cutting hair for a minimum donation of $15 per haircut.
