Faith Presbyterian Church to participate in Mission Madness during March

February 28, 2014
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The congregation of Faith Presbyterian is being challenged to perform 6,000 hours of Mission Madness during the month of March.

Mission Madness is designed to encourage members to become involved, or increase their involvement, in local and global missions living out their discipleship and showing the love of God to neighbors near and far.

Mission service can take many forms, from serving a meal to a neighbor, spending a day working with Habitat for Humanity, helping through WeCare, volunteering in civic organizations, Hospice, Lee County Memorial Health Systems, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, playing hand bells, serving on church committees, visiting or making phone calls to shut ins and homebound people, hospital visits, and the list goes on.

"Mission hours will be recorded on a large "thermometer" in the narthex so that everyone will be able to see when we go over our projected goal of 6,000 hours of mission service," the Rev. Susan Rice said.

Mission Madness officially kicks off Saturday, March 1. Participants can pick up their cards early so they are ready to record those hours of service wherever and whenever they serve. After 10 hours of service participants will receive a free March Mission Madness T-shirt!
