Christian Diaz delivered what proved to be the game-winning RBI single with one out in the fourth inning that lifted Island Coast to a 2-1 win over Ida Baker Wednesday night.
Quinn Bourque (1-0) earned the victory by tossing six innings of four-hit ball with 11 strikeouts. Daniel Korchick (0-1) absorbed the loss with three innings of work, allowing one earned run, three hits and striking out two with Jordan Pinto pitching the last three innings.
Nikko Rodriguez and Dante Ciminati stroked doubles for the Gators, but Diaz delivered the game-winner in the fourth.

Marion Reed started the winning rally with a leadoff single in the sixth and scored game-winning run. The Red Knights got their only two hits of the night during the rally.
Makenzie Peterson (4-0) earned the win with a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts. The Knights (5-0) play Friday at Port Charlotte.
