Next month's roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public

ADULTS

St. Patrick's Day Storytelling

2 p.m., Saturday, March 1

Come and enjoy a St. Patrick's Day storytelling event with Mary Lou Williams. Sponsored by The Friends of the Cape Coral Library. Registration is required.

Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

Mondays, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

Get creative and make a handmade treasure. Instruction and materials will be provided for newcomers, or bring a project to work on. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.

Weaving on a Story Loom

10 a.m., Tuesday, March 4

Join Fredricka Howie as she instructs and assists a weaving session on a portable Story Loom. Learn to weave a three dimensional pouch on a loom. Looms and materials provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library. Registration is required.

Chess Anyone?

5:30 p.m., Tuesdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25

Rise to the chess challenge and join in the fun. Bring a personal chess set, if preferred. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.

English Caf

6 p.m., Tuesdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25

10 a.m., Fridays, March 7, 14, 21, 28

Practice your English with English Caf, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.

Yoga Basics

10 a.m., Saturday, March 8

Yoga instructor Sheryl Purnell will lead a session teaching the basic poses and ideology of yoga. Please bring a yoga mat or towel and wear comfortable clothing. Registration is required.

Lost In Shangri-La by Mitchell Zuckoff

2 p.m., Wednesday, March 12

"Lost in Shangri-La" is a wonderfully readable account of the demise of the Gremlin Special, of inner-tribal warfare, and of World War II military history. Zuckoff doesn't cease to fascinate as he touches on topics such as the Women's Army Corps, Filipino forces, tactical rescue and indigenous peoples. Shangri-La doesn't bog down with overdone detail, but rather, offers the opportunity for insight and tender reflection long after you close the cover.

It's St. Patrick's Day! Come and make an ornament to decorate your room, or make a bracelet to wear for St. Patrick's Day or on any other day for good luck! Families and parents welcome. Registration is required. Register online or pick up free tickets at the library.

Family Storytime

10 a.m., Tuesdays, March 25

10 a.m. Wednesdays, March 26

This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.

Baby-Parent Rhyme Time

10 a.m., Thursdays, March 27

Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.

Kids Read Down Fines

6-7 p.m., Mondays, March 3, 17, 24

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Bring your library card with you. Your library card or library card number is required in order to access your account.

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.
