Grossman addresses business group

Attorney, mediator and trainer Keith Grossman, founder and managing partner of Grossman Law & Conflict Management, recently presented "How to Build Your Peace Chest," which is designed to enhance conflict management and negotiation skills, to a group of business professionals in Naples.

LCHA earns High Performer rating

Marcus D. Goodson, executive director of the Lee County Housing Authority, has announces that the agency has achieved a High Performer rating in its Real Estate Assessment Center score.

The REAC score is an inspection grade the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development issues on public-housing properties based on the physical and financial condition, and Management Operating and Capital Fund Program. LCHA's score improved from a 66 in 2010 to a 93 in 2012 and again in 2013.

REAC's mission is to provide and promote the effective use of accurate, timely and reliable information assessing the condition of HUD's portfolio, provide information to help ensure safe, decent and affordable housing and to restore the public trust by identifying fraud, abuse and waste of HUD resources.

The LCHA oversees 142 low-income rental units at three sites in North Fort Myers and administers 271 vouchers in Lee County. Programs offered through the LCHA include public housing, Section 8 Housing Vouchers, Family Self-Sufficiency and Resident Opportunity Self Sufficiency.

The Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge of Markham, Ontario, recently announced that they have selected 20 trucking companies from across North America as the 2014 Best Fleets to Drive For. The annual survey and contest, now in its sixth year, identifies for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers. This year's winners are as follows:

The nomination process began in the fall of 2013, when company drivers and owner operators were asked to nominate carriers that operate 10 or more trucks.

The winners represent a wide range of fleet sizes and business focus areas. The smallest fleet has 25 drivers, while the largest has more than 8,500.

Early education, child development center opens at Chico's facility

Chico's FAS Inc. has announced the opening of Chico's FAS Early Education and Child Development Center located at the company's National Store Support Center on Metro Parkway.

The 16,800-square-foot child care center, operated by Bright Horizons Family Solutions Inc., will serve infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and more. The center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is available for Chico's FAS, Inc. employees only. The new childcare center accommodates up to 132 children from 6 weeks to 5 years old and 36 school age children from age 6 to 10 years old.

The center provides Chico's FAS employees with a high quality early education and child care program on-site and features state-of-the-art amenities, including indoor and outdoor play and learning areas. The Bright Horizons curriculum places a strong emphasis on the development of language, math, science, and social skills and incorporates the key elements that contribute to a child's readiness for school and academic success.
