Trenney to perform at Faith Presbyterian Church tonight

Organist Tom Trenney will perform in concert in Faith Presbyterian Church's newly remodeled sanctuary, this evening, Jan. 31, at 7.

Trenney is known for his engaging improvisations on hymns, submitted themes, silent films, scripture, poetry and artwork. He became the first organist to be awarded first prize and audience prize in the American Guild of Organists' National Competition in Organ Improvisation in 2006. Included on this varied program will be variations on "America" by Charles Ives, excerpts from "Symphony VI" by Widor and "Irish Air from County Derry" by Edwin Lemare. He will also be accompanying the silent movie "One Week," starring Buster Keaton.

Tickets are$15 per person and may be purchased at the door the day of or at the Church Office. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Fridays, 8 a.m. - noon, or call Faith Presbyterian at 239-542-2858.
