A weekly farmer's market returns to JetBlue Park at Fenway South on Jan. 6 to begin a four-month run.

The market operates every Monday from 2-6 p.m. at 11500 Fenway South Drive, offering local produce, cheeses, fresh pastas, seafood, baked breads, meats, herbs, organic vegetables, ready-to-eat meals, flowers, crafts, soaps, candles, live music and more all the way through April.

"Our vendors are very excited to be returning to JetBlue Park to promote their locally produced products and wares to neighboring communities as well as to Boston Red Sox fans," said Betsy Ventura, who, with Jean Baer, owns Local Roots, LLC and runs the market. "Farmer's markets have been growing in popularity, and this is the perfect time of year to shop local in the open air and beautiful Florida sunshine."

Ventura and Baer also operate the Lakes Park and Sanibel farmer's markets.

"We are very excited that Lee County's newest open-air market is returning to JetBlue Park," said Katie Haas, senior director of Florida business operations for the Boston Red Sox. "This market is a great way to kick-off the Spring Training season and just another one of the unique ways Fenway South is being utilized for the Southwest Florida community."

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor or providing live entertainment can visit the website www.buylocallee.com.

The Red Sox open the spring season with single-admission doubleheader exhibition games at 1:05 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, against the Northeastern University Huskies followed by the Boston College Eagles. The team's Grapefruit League schedule starts at 1:05 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, when the Mayor's Cup rival Minnesota Twins visit to JetBlue Park.

The schedule includes a total of 17 games at JetBlue Park.
