With Lely arriving late to put things a bit on edge, the Mariner Tritons took care of business Tuesday night and posted a 75-63 District 5A-12 victory.
Caleb Darrett tallied a game-high 35 points to lead the Tritons, who took charge in the second and third quarters. Rodney Hunter contributed 15 points toward the win.
"We dictated the tempo with our press in the second quarter and led by eight at the end of the third," said Tritons coach James Harris. "We came together at both ends of the court and made shots around the rim."

Cape Coral 39, Immokalee 31: Eric Martin and Joe Mesaros scored in double figures Tuesday night in leading Cape High to a District 5A-12 victory over Immokalee.
Martin hit for 14 points and Mesaros 12 with Marcus Blackwell chipping in seven points and seven rebounds for the Seahawks (4-3, 1-0 district), who travel to Cypress Lake on Thursday.
Island Coast 69, North Fort Myers 31: Island Coast overwhelmed North Fort Myers Tuesday night behind the double-figure scoring of Morgan Freeman (18 pints, 6 steals) and Torian Thomas (15 points, 7 assists, 4 steals).
The Gators (3-4, 2-1 district) host Dunbar on Thursday.
Bishop Verot 75, LaBelle 50: Ricky Doyle poured in a school record 41 points Tuesday night to carry Bishop Verot to Victory over LaBelle.
Doyle was the only double-figure scorer on the night and helped hand coach Matt Herting his 350th career win with the Vikings (5-1), who play again next week in the City of Palms Classic.
Cape Coral 8, North Fort Myers 0: Jonathan Jimenez continued his scoring prowess Tuesday with two goals and two assists in Cape High's shutout win at North Fort Myers.
Miguel Martinez also collected two goals with single goals coming from Kevin Retana, Hunter Guerrero, Marvin Mosquera and Camillo Avendano. Freshman goalkeeper Kyal Weber made seven saves in his first varsity start.

Ray Gerke added two goals and two assists with Trevor Jurkowski adding a single goal with Hunter Sperry and Joey Lane contributing one assist apiece. Michael Laborde made three saves in goal in the first half to record the shutout with Alex Trujillo adding one save in the second half.
Ida Baker 67, South Fort Myers 1: Filander Barahona's three goals led Ida Baker to a district victory Tuesday at South Fort Myers.
Landon Day, Diego Silva and Carter Burchell added single goals with goalkeeper Trey Crispin making six saves for the Bulldogs (4-3-3, 3-2 district), who host Mariner on Friday.
The Vikings (8-1-2, 4-1 district) play at Ida Baker on Friday.
