To the editor:
I've known Rick Williams through our N.W. and S.W. Neighborhood Association meetings. His integrity is without question. He believes in a balanced budget without raising taxes. He knows that there are two things citizens can't do for themselves - police and fire - funds go there first, within reason.
He fought against the tax on electricity because it's a bad tax. We who live here all year bear the brunt of this tax and 10 percent is appalling (7 percent plus 3 percent franchise fee). Rick will try to remove this tax.
He's a Navy veteran who has served in leadership positions. He's a quiet man who won't pontificate from the dais, but he will vote for the citizens he represents. We need independent people to serve, not those represented by special interests, or a predetermined vote based on alliance with other members. Rick understands this, wants civility, and wants to be our voice on Council.
Please join Tony and me as we vote on Nov 5 for Rick Williams.
