Kudos to the Code enforcement officers?

October 4, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

I think that the code people have been getting a bad rap lately and it is time that someone stood to provide a well-deserved "pat on the back!"

I can bear firsthand witness to the committed dedication of these fine officers. A few weeks back, when the Cape was being inundated daily with torrents of rain, and parts of the Cape were underwater, and budget concerns were resounding off the halls of the administration, these officers were patrolling in the dead of night investigating those residents who were sprinkler scofflaws. Yes, they sought out residents who were using their own sprinklers and well water at a time earlier than dictated by the utilities department. How dare a resident water thusly?

With pad in hand and a warning email sent to the errant resident all in the Cape slept more soundly knowing full well that the money and resources of the Cape were being carefully administered. I thank them all!
