Bulldogs fade to 15th

Ida Baker's up-and-down boys' golf performance was down again Monday when the Bulldogs placed 15th out of 22 teams in the second division at the Hawkins-Crutchfield Tournament in Sebring.

Ross Lally and Alec DiLallo led the Bulldogs in scoring with rounds of 79 and 81, respectively. With Payton Shehane scoring 89 and Gage Wilson 96, the Bulldogs had a foursome tally of 345.

Sebring won the division with 313. Estero (323), Barron Collier (330) and St. John Neumann (366) also participated at the par-72 Sun and Lake Resort course.

The Bulldogs will try for more consistency Tuesday when they host Evangelical Christian and Cape Coral Tuesday before playing another tournament on Thursday across Alligator Alley.

Evangelical Christian 3, Bishop Verot 1: Playing from behind most of the night, Bishop Verot took a hard fall Monday night at the hands of Evangelical Christian 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 25-19.

Lauren Sheeley led the Vikings with 10 kills while Emily Hudson added seven kills. Ashlyn Brown also had seven kills to go with 15 assists.

The Vikings (12-4) travel to Gateway Charter Tuesday night.
