To the editor:
The citizens of Cape Coral have a most important decision this November in our City election. Did you approve the Council's adopting a new additional tax on your monthly electric bill? Do you believe the new fire tax (called an assessment?) on your home and business was appropriate?
There were only two members of the City Council, Mayor Sullivan and Councilman Chulakes-Leetz, who opposed this new additional city taxation which will lead to increased city spending.
Both Mayor Sullivan and Councilman Chulakes-Leetz understand the difference between assumed wants and necessary needs in city government. Mayor Sullivan is a public official who keeps his commitment to our citizens. He does not equivocate or become evasive and use "weasel words" on his positions. Mayor Sullivan and Council member Chulakes-Leetz have earned our support and must be re-elected this November.
