Marilyn Elizabeth Driscoll, 79, of Cape Coral, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Chicago to Joseph and Evelyn Crotty, now deceased.
She was a loving mother who made homes for her family around the world. Accompanying her spouse throughout his career with the Department of State, she guided her family through tours in Vietnam, Laos, Japan, Indonesia and finally Canada. She had a deep love for Asia and was always eager to embrace new lands and cultures.
She is survived by three children, Michael (Lorraine) Driscoll, Suzanne Thomas and Kerry Scully. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jamie (Michael), Nicole, Alex, Will, Logan, David and Emily; and three great-grandchildren, Marissa, Hailey and Deonte.
She was preceded in death by her son, David, in 1981, and husband, William, in 2010; she will be laid to rest beside them in northern Virginia. A remembrance will be held in Cape Coral for friends, the date to be advised.
