Loie "Louie" Haemelinck, 67, of Cape Coral, formerly of Memphis, Mich., passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in Cape Coral. He was born June 9, 1946, to August and Jeanette Haemelinck, now deceased.
He was of Belgian decent and was a true "Buffalo." He had a passion for painting and was an excellent artist. He loved living in the country, where he enjoyed the outdoors. He was also very fond of animals of any type.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen Haemelinck of Cape Coral; one son, Corey Squires of Memphis, Mich.; two sisters, Josie Carty of Memphis, Mich., and Jean Miller (Bob) of East China, Mich.; one brother, Frank Haemelinck (Helen) of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; two grandchildren, Hayleigh and Noah Squires of Pt. Huron; numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Marianne Haemelinck; as well as Tasha the dog.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and John Haemelinck; and John Haemelinck's wife, Melody; as well as his beloved Tonta (Josephine).
Memorial services in Michigan will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, at the home of Bob and Jean Miller.
Memorial Services in Cape Coral will be held at a later date.
