Ruth Dare Farley Zopp, 90, beloved wife and mother, crossed over to Glory Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. She was was born to Lelia Hite Farley and Frederick Lee Farley April 7, 1923, in Alderson, W.Va.
Having a lovely small town childhood, she graduated from Alderson High School in 1940 with her high school sweetheart, Richard Zopp. They married in 1941, with Richard joining the Air Force in 1942. They started their family of four children in West Virginia, and then moved to Indiana in 1962 when Richard was transfered as an employee of Union Carbide. She was a homemaker until earning her certification in court reporting in 1968. After moving to Florida in 1978, she worked at Community Hospital as a courier. All through her life, a gifted artist and seamstress, she continued to paint and sew with great joy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 71 years, Richard Graham Zopp, and also daughter, Carolyn Lee Zopp George.
She lived in Cape Coral for 35 years, and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church for over 30 years where she served as a deacon.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Zopp Jr., Nancy Zopp Graham and Joseph Zopp; grandchildren, Peter George and Richard George; and four great-grandchildren.
