Stephen Paul Ondrejka, 69, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born July 17, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Stephen P. Ondrejka Sr. and Eleanor Ondrejka, now deceased.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his children, Steve (Andrea) of North Fort Myers, Tracy (Jason) Phenes of The Woodlands, Texas; along with five grandchildren, Haley, Cole, Skyler, Addison and Reagan; and his two sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Phillips of North Fort Myers and Jeannie (Clay) Murphy of Wild Rose, Wis.

He moved his family from Cleveland to Cape Coral in the early 1970s where he established S.P.O. Construction Inc. in 1976. He and his son worked alongside each other for many years until his retirement a few years ago. He loved gambling, spending time on his boat fishing and hunting in Alabama. He will be greatly missed by many loving relatives and close friends.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held in his honor Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Edison Restaurant, 3583 McGregor Blvd., from 1-5 pm.
