To the editor:
I am a supporter of the UEP going forward here in Cape Coral. The monthly payment now is so much less than they were in 2008 or if we waited until we were further down the path to recovery. The sad reality of life is that there will always be some who cannot afford to pay for this project. Surely some organization in Cape Coral, or even Lee County, can start searching for philanthropic funds that could help these individuals out. Those grants would go a long way to help those most especially in need.
I contacted two companies I would like to have in Cape Coral. They are major, national companies that employ large number of employees and pay a living wage and provide benefits. They would not close if we have another economic down turn. The reason they would not locate here is because we have no real infrastructure. Now I can write them and let them know we are ready for them. Now I just have to keep saying those prayers that my water tank lasts long enough.
