Winifred Mary Peters, 88, of Cape Coral passed away peacefully May 15, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wynn Lynn Eastep, in 2006, and her husband, Ambrose (Pete) Peters, in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Sandy) Peters of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her daughter, Mary (Ron) Forbis of Naples, Fla. Her grandchildren include Mary Lynn Rodriguez, Marco Rodriguez, Ana LaMotta, Rosalinda Rodriguez, Rebecca Eastep, Tim, Eric and Stephen Peters, along with Garrett, Marissa, Jillian and Nicholas Forbis. Great-grandchildren are Arianna, Sarah, Isabelle Rodriguez, Isaiah AZeir, Emma,Mary, Jackson and Ethan Peters.
She was born in July of 1924 in Germantown, Wis. She graduated from Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, Wis., and married Ambrose T. Peters. They lived in Fox Point, Wis., until 1981 when they moved to Cape Coral.
For a number of years, Mrs. Peters was very active in the SW Florida Symphony Chorus. She was also active in the Catholic church, whereby she and her husband were very instrumental in bringing EWTN to the local market.
She spent her life spreading God's words while serving as the president of the Lay Carmelites for a number of years at St. Andrew Church in Cape Coral. She also served for many years as a Pink Lady, volunteering at the Cape Coral hospital. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
The family will be having a memorial and mass for her later in August at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Masses are greatly appreciated.
