Cre8 Salon & Spa owner receives Arrojo Razor-Craft certification
Marcy Sagorac, the founder and owner of Cre8 Salon & Spa in Cape Coral, is one of the first 14 stylists in the country to earn the prestigious Arrojo Razor-Craft certification for advanced razor skills, awarded to her in New York City by renown stylist and trainer Nick Arrojo.
Sagorac will have her name listed on the Arrojo Academy home page as one of the country's finest razor technique specialists. Her picture is also featured on the page, in a group shot with the other certified stylists who graduated with Sagorac from a weeklong advanced razor seminar on June 20.
Sagorac and several other stylists at Cre8 have been training with Arrojo at his New York City academy since 2009. Arrojo will visit the salon July 7th and 8th of this year to teach the entire team classic cut and razor techniques. As an Arrojo Ambassador salon, Cre8 is one of only three salons in Florida to partner with Arrojo and carry the Arrojo product line.

Ribbon cutting held at Crawford law office
On June 18, the Lee County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Law Office of James A. Crawford, a civil litigation and business law firm located at 1705 Colonial Boulevard, Unit C-4, Fort Myers. Approximately 60 community members celebrated the grand opening by touring the firm offices and learning more about the legal services offered by the firm.

BB&T-Oswald Trippe serves up sand volleyball court at Salvation Army
On June 8, a new and improved sand volleyball court was dedicated at The Salvation Army's Family Services location on Edison Avenue in Fort Myers. The inaugural game, The Salvation Army Crossroads versus BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company went to five games with the BB&T-OTC team as the champions.
BB&T-OTC donated the new recreational amenity in conjunction with BB&T's Lighthouse Project. The volleyball restructuring project included digging out the unused existing site, installing a perimeter barrier, adding eight tons of new sand and new poles, nets and balls.
Assisting BB&T-OTC on the project were Gulfcoast Consulting Group as the general contractor, subcontractor MAJ Contracting and Allied Trucking delivered the sand.
Also included in The Salvation Army Lighthouse Project was the preparation of 120 hygiene kits. Each kit, prepared by BB&T-OTC volunteers, provided a selection of hygiene products including a bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream and sunscreen. The kits were distributed to the homeless currently residing in Salvation Army shelters.
BB&T associates have donated more than 200,000 hours in volunteer service and affected the lives of more than six million people as part of the BB&T Lighthouse Project, since its inception in 2009. Associates overwhelmingly voted to bring back the initiative this year.

Southwest Florida International Airport reports May traffic
During May, 576,713 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 8.4 percent compared to May 2012. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 6.7 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in May was Delta with 136,108 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (98,303), JetBlue (67,385), Southwest (60,907) and US Airways (56,449).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 6,191 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 9.6 percent compared to May 2012. Page Field saw 6,949 movements, a 1.6 percent decrease from May 2012. In addition, more than 2.5 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in May 2013, a decrease of 11.9 percent compared to May 2012.
Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 7.3 million passengers in 2012 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. No ad valorem (property) taxes are used for airport operation or construction.

Frontier announces new nonstop service from Fort Myers to Wilmington
The Lee County Port Authority has announced that Frontier Airlines will begin new nonstop service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Wilmington/Philadelphia New Castle Airport in Wilmington, Del. (ILG) on Saturday, Nov. 16. This is the first time nonstop service will be offered between Fort Myers and Wilmington. Twice-weekly flights will operate on an Airbus A320.
