Mariah I. Fernndez and Michael F. Washington were united in marriage Saturday, June 22, at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Wes Olds. Music for the ceremony was provided by Sounds Unlimited. Ceremony readings were performed by Daniel Heredia, cousin of the bride, and Connor McGrath, cousin of the groom.
The bride's parents, Miguel and Denise Fernndez III, hosted a seated dinner and reception at Pelican Preserve Country Club in Fort Myers. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents, Michael and Mary Washington, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Carrabba's Restaurant in Cape Coral.

Mariah is the granddaughter of James G. O'Reilly and Miguel H. Fernndez of Cape Coral. Michael the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy of Highlands, N.J., and Lillian Washington of Cape Coral.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown by Allure. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline encrusted with Swarovski crystals and was complemented by a trumpet train.
The maid of honor was Desiree Fernndez, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids included Gabrielle Fernndez, sister of the bride; Megan Washington, sister of the groom; Taryn O'Reilly, cousin of the bride; and life-long friends Mary Keezel and Kayla Ramey.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore amethyst dresses complemented by coral. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of purple/orange flowers.
The best man was Johnnie Neckar, best friend of the groom, and the groomsmen included Mark Faulkner, Matt Tomlin, Max Pavy, Chris Marconi and Matt Gibson, all long-time friends of the groom.
The ring-bearers were Jonathan Patrick Dick and William Jensen.
Mariah is a graduate of North Fort Myers High Schoof, and will be graduating this December from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. Michael is also a graduate of North Fort Myers High School and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with bachelor's degree in accounting. He is also currently pursuing his master's degree at FAGUS.
Following a honeymoon in St Lucia in the Caribbean, Mariah and Michael will reside in Cape Coral.
