94 single-family

home permits pulled in May in unincorporated Lee County

During June, contractors pulled 94 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at $21.8 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 80 permits issued in May and 56 issued in June 2012, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

Also during June, 29 multi-family units were permitted, compared to 43 in May and 36 in June 2012.

General commercial activity was valued at $8.5 million for 12 permits, compared to $687,525 in May and $4.5 million in June 2012.

Lee County Community Development issued 3,307 permits of all kinds during June.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

21 manufactured home lots sold at LeeCorp Homes' Country Lakes

LeeCorp Homes reports the sales rate has reached 66 percent in Phase 2 at Country Lakes as 21 out of 32 manufactured home lots have been sold. Country Lakes is a 55-plus deeded lot ownership manufactured home subdivision on Country Lakes Drive, north of Luckett Road, Exit 139 off Interstate 75, in Fort Myers. The average lot size is 77 by 160 feet. Lots are priced between $14,900 and $34,900, with land and home packages priced from the low $100,000s.

Three model homes are featured at Country Lakes, all built by Jacobsen Homes of Safety Harbor, Fla. The Cypress is located at 5383 Countrydale Court, and is priced at $ 124,900. The Pelican is located at 9789 Creekwood Lane, and is priced at $149,900. The Regatta is located at 9790 Creekwood Lane, and is priced at $159,900. Prices include home, exterior additions, lot, sales tax and impact fees.

Boardwalk being built at Villa Palmeras community

Construction of a 300-foot boardwalk is under construction at Villa Palmeras, a new community by Neal Communities in Estero, announced Jay Coughlin, Neal's area construction manager for Lee and Collier counties. The boardwalk will connect the north and south ends of the community, which is located on Three Oaks Parkway just south of Corkscrew Road.

Elevated five-to-10 feet above the ground, the boardwalk will cross over two tributaries of the Estero River, offering residents leisurely strolls along the flora and fauna of the community's natural preserves. A kiosk will provide an ideal location for photography, observation of nature, or a quiet spot for conversation. A convenient access from the boardwalk will lead to the entrance of the community's Coconut Club amenity, which features a heated pool, spa and grill area.
