JUPITER - Justin Nicolino allowed just one run on two hits over seven innings to lead to the Jupiter Hammerheads to a 5-3 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle Wednesday night.?Nicolino (4-1) received early run support and at one point retired 12 hitters in a row. The Hammerheads jumped on Miracle starter Tyler Duffey in the third inning. With a runner on first and two outs, Jupiter churned out five consecutive hits. Austin Barnes and Ryan Rieger had back-to-back RBI singles. Alex Burg and Austin Nola recorded back-to-back run-scoring doubles with Burg's smash plating two.?With a 5-0 lead, Nicolino settled into a rhythm that was finally disrupted in the seventh. Mike Kvasnicka sent a 1-2 offering over the left field fence for his fourth home run of the season; all coming in the last five games. Nicolino recorded the final two outs of the seventh and then handed the game to the Hammerhead bullpen.?Joe O'Gara came on to pitch in the eighth for Jupiter and was greeted by Andy Leer's single up the middle. After Jonathan Murphy flew out to center, Candido Pimentel reached on an infield hit. Byron Buxton then sent a 1-2 pitch into center that scored Leer and cut the Hammerhead lead to 5-2. Aderling Mejia then hit a sacrifice fly to plate Pimentel and make it a two-run game.?After pitching a perfect seventh, Corey Williams used a double-play turned by Pimentel for a scoreless eighth. Nick Wittgren entered out of the Jupiter bullpen and retired the side in order for his 15th save.?Duffey (0-3) got the loss, but did not allow a run in his final three innings after yielding six in the third.?The Miracle (48-26, 3-4) return Thursday night for game two against Jupiter (39-36, 3-4).
