Florida Wildlife Commission conducting controlled burn north of Cape Coral

The Florida Wildlife Commission is conducting a controlled burn in the Yucca Pen area north of Cape Coral. Residents in the north Cape, especially near Andalusia Boulevard, Wilmington Parkway and North Gator Circle may see dense smoke at times.

Equipment and personnel from FWC are onsite monitoring the controlled burn. FWC expects to conduct daily burns for the remainder of the week (weather permitting). The total burn area is about 1,000 acres.
