Donald J. Conty, 80, of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was born in Weehawken, N.J., to Pauline (Conklin) and Genero Conty. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Hornet. After he was discharged, he went to work for Uniroyal in Passaic, N.J. He was transferred to Port Clinton, Ohio, and retired from Chemptura Chemical in Connecticut as Human Relations Manager.
Mr. Conty is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille V. (Licata) Conty; his sons, Anthony (Tony) and his wife, Cathy and Daniel and his wife, Jill. He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer Christos of Colorado, Jessie Conty of Louisiana, Donald Conty of Texas, Nicholas Conty and Anthony Conty of Virginia. He also is survived by his great-granddaughter, Annabelle; and his sister, Jerrylyn Rizzardi of New Jersey.
He was a man of firm beliefs and integrity. He loved his family most of all. The family asks that any donations be sent to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. Friends will be received from 24 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
