Victor Manuel Reyes, 80, of Cape Coral passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to Hilario and Ulpiana Cruz Reyes. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He moved to Cape Coral 18 years ago from New Jersey. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Fort Myers where he served as a deacon and volunteered at the Church's Food Pantry.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 57 years, Aida Garcia Reyes; two daughters, Nancy Fernin of Cape Coral and Wendy Fernin of Naples; and three grandchildren, Bobby, Victor and Becky.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 16, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 8463, will follow the services.
