The Minnesota Twins announced the promotion of Florida State League South Division All-Star third baseman Miguel Sano, second baseman Eddie Rosario and center fielder Angel Morales to the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats on Sunday afternoon.

Sano, 20, appeared in 56 games with the Fort Myers Miracle in the 2013 season. He hit .330 with a league-leading 16 homers and 48 runs batted in. Sano also racked up 15 doubles, two triples and a league-best 51 runs. In his final game with the Miracle on Sunday, Sano hit two home runs including a tape-measure shot in the ninth inning that cleared the grandstands in left field at McKechnie Field in Bradenton. The Minnesota Twins signed Sano in 2009.

Rosario, 21, compiled a .329 batting average in 52 games with the Miracle in 2013. He had 13 doubles, five triples and six homers with 35 runs batted in and 40 runs scored. Rosario played for Team Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic this spring and was a fourth round draft pick of the Twins in 2010. Rosario's sixth homer came on Sunday.

Morales, 23, earns a promotion to Double-A after spending 273 games with Fort Myers over the course of four seasons. In 2013, he hit .297 in 55 games. Morales totaled 17 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 36 runs batted in with 35 runs scored. Morales, like Sano and Rosario, homered on Sunday as well. Morales was drafted in the third round by the Twins in 2007.

The promotions for Sano, Rosario and Morales come one day after the Miracle clinched the Florida State League South Division first half championship in a 5-4 win over the Bradenton Marauders at Hammond Stadium. The Miracle return to the playoffs for the first time since 2009 in September.

The Miracle open a four-game series with the Daytona Cubs on Monday evening at 7:05 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Miracle return to Hammond Stadium after the June 14-15 All-Star Game festivities in Dunedin, Fla. with a six-game homestand beginning on Monday, June 17 at 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call (239) 768-4210 or visit
