To the editor:
What a the headlined story being "Powerball ticket - Hot Commodity," I cannot, for the life of me, understand why we have not as yet instituted a national lottery to wipe out our national indebtedness of that overwhelming 16 or 17 trillions of dollars.
It seems as if the populous cannot give their money away fast enough when the prizes are in the multi-million dollar figure. So why do we as a nation not take advantage of that very evident fact of life?
Suckers? Then squeeze them for all their worth if they like, oh so much. Let's make it do some good beside simply creating a few new millionaires.
What a way to go if we really want to spend our dough. When are we going to wise up and give this thing a go?
