Carole Jean Hernandez, 67, of Cape Coral passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Hope Hospice, Cape Coral. She was born May 26, 1945, in Sharon, Pa., a child of Alphus D. and Virginia L. (Huber) Hazen.
She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1963; she loved to fish and was known as the "Catfish Queen," along with the beach and shopping.
A resident for the past 29 years, she worked for Lee County Government for over 17 years before retiring. She worked as a bus driver for several years before moving in the office to become a dispatcher. She enjoyed being with family and loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her husband of 31 years, Victor M. Hernandez; sons, Anthony (Bobbi Lynn) Gianfrancesco III and Mark Andrew (Elizabeth Rodriguez) Gianfrancesco; grandchildren, Specialist Christian Tyler (Christina) Gianfrancesco, Aleigha Dawn Gianfrancesco, Anthony Robert Gianfrancesco and Jonathan Kyle Gianfrancesco; great-granddaughter, Alexandria Marie Gianfrancesco; brothers, John and Kenneth Hazen; and sister, Joann Rhoades.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Andrew Gianfrancesco Jr., and her sister, Judy Ann Hazen.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 21, at 6 p.m., in the North Shore Alliance Church, 330 W. Mariana Avenue, North Fort Myers, FL.
