Alma Eileen Ross, 84, a Cape Coral resident for the last four years, formerly of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born June 7, 1928, in Marietta, Ohio, to Robert and Hazel Skipton, now deceased
A woman with true love for her family, she was a member of the Church of the Messiah in Westerville and was a three-time past president of three CCL Leagues. She started her career as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone Co. She ended her career as Chief Telephone Operator for the State of Ohio.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Lewis "Paul" Ross of Cape Coral; two daughters, Cheryl (Dana) Waldo of Charleston, W.Va., and Paula (Joe) Schenz of Cape Coral; a sister, Inez (Jack) Wilson of North Fort Myers; a brother, Charles (Joyce) Skipton of Niceville, Fla.; as well as five grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Horton, Kevin Waldo, Christopher Waldo, Joey (Gretchen) Schenz and Kyle Schenz.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed-ward, John, Robert, Walter and Thomas Skipton; her sister, Helen Fleisher.
A Celebration of Life was held Monday, May 13, at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33991 with the Rev. Tom Hafer officiating.
