A man has been released from the hospital more than two months after he was ejected from his motorcycle when a van pulled out in front of him in Cape Coral.

As of Tuesday, Earl Raymond Clark III, 47, of 458 Ellis St., North Fort Myers, had been discharged from Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was taken following the March 13 accident.

A Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Brenda Ramos, 43, of 2126 S.E. 18th Ave., was traveling northbound on Hancock Creek Boulevard at about 7:03 a.m. when it came to the intersection at Pine Island Road, according to officials.

Ramos crossed the eastbound lanes of Pine Island and stopped in the median, police reported. A vehicle headed west on Pine Island pulled into the south turn lane beside Ramos, blocking her view.

At the same time, Clark was westbound on a Yamaha motorcycle.

According to police, Ramos tried to continue traveling north across the westbound lanes of Pine Island and drove in front of Clark. The motorcycle collided into the passenger's side of the Dodge.

As a result of the impact, Clark was ejected from the Yamaha.

He sustained life threatening injuries to his head and was trauma-alerted via ambulance to the hospital, officials reported. Ramos was not injured in the crash.

Clark reportedly was not wearing a helmet during the accident.

The crash does not appear alcohol or drug related, according to police.
