Ferrer wound up with his first mound victory of the season after striking out five in his two innings of work. Jason Pickett contributed two hits, including a double, while Jacob Martin and Chris Mulvey each drove in two runs.

As the No. 3 seed, the Tritons (13-11) have a date with No. 2 Cape Coral Wednesday night at Mariner in the semifinal round of the District 5A-13 Tournament.

Top seed Cypress Lake takes on the winner between 4-5 seeds Lemon Bay and North Fort Myers, which play Tuesday trying to advance.

The champion will be crowned after Friday's 7 p.m. final game.
